Robert and I had a discussion the other day about Nintendo's Mario. We have differing pronunciations (it requires effort for me to say it Robert's way--Marr-ee-o). I explained to him that Mario is not the only one whose name Binghams pronounce Mare-ee-o. There was a popular hockey player when I was growing up whose name was Mario Lemieux, also pronounced Mare-ee-o. He made some joke and told the kitty that one of his names should be Marlo Le Mew. There you go, Dad. I guess our cat really is French.
